I think the only prob with him is that he is one of those men who think they can do better for you than you by yourself. However he isn't misogynistic in any sense. His issues arise from a point that FL is too kind and forgiving in his eyes. So he thinks he can get his hands dirty for her so that things could be easier for her. In a way he has put her on a pedestal bc of his experience with her as a child where she unknowingly guided him while he was being suffocated by everyone around him, she was his liberation. He thinks she is pure while she has seen too much while living acc to the life people designed for her and is kind of jaded. It is a misunderstanding that can be resolved once they talk it out.
