Is Korean legal system that weak? That you can be bullied and coerced for a debt that is not yours and you have no recourse? No support from police and courts?
That’s what I’m wondering. It’s so weird to me that a family member can take out insane debt and financially wreck themselves and just make their kids be on the hook? It’s very bizarre that a parent can literally pawn their debts off on their children and the government or law enforcement isn’t cracking down.
You have to remember that fictional mangas heavily exaggerate reality just to create dramatic plots. In the real world, South Korea strictly prioritizes protecting personal safety and ensures children are never held responsible for debts they didn't cause. It makes no sense to judge an entire country's legal system based on a fictional story. (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
