I had read FOS before I read FYL because I like the plot of FOS better than FYL. While I had already read FYL as well, it makes the contrast between FOS and FYL even more jarring. FYL is fluffy with angst that reflects the reality of young gay romance. I got an optimistic feeling from FYL even during its most heartbreaking chapters.
Now FOS. FOS for me is hard to swallow but I still couldnt stop reading it. Almost every chapter makes me sober up especially the ones in Sunwoos point of view. FOS has a lot of negative emotions around it but not in a unrealistic, plot pusher kinda way that we see in most yaoi mangas. Its negative emotions that makes up our MC's because they lived a life. It always impresses me how deep the Author had worked on these characters and jow theyre not afraid that their characters might be judged and not liked by their readers while still making them life-like.
An example would be Yuri. Yuri started out to be such a A-hole tbh. In the current chapters, while he isn't really good-good, he is slowly letting go of his sister. This is because of his interactions with Sunwoo. The character development in FOS is slow and painful but it is realistic given both the MC's stubborn personalities.
I'm hoping he ends up with the Black-haired guy because I feel like all debts should be repaid and he is only alive because he shared his power with him and there's a promise made. Technically, the black haired guy had stronger claim.
I feel like him ending up with the white haired guy will be wishy washy.
exactly, i’m rooting for that route. it kind of a waste of the plot actually if he just ends up with the white haired guy.
