heo jina …. ofc its messed up to do that to your best friend and its good she actually acknowledges how messed up it was for her to do that and seems to be living with the consequences and regret of that decision.
but i see myself in her to a certain extent. i was deeply in love with my best friend too at one point, but it was clear that she didnt care for me the way i did her. we were going to graduate soon and i know she’s the type to distance herself away from others not out of maliciousness but because of how her social energy is. that made me so anxious. that i would be replaced and forgotten, because i was never really a priority in her life in the first place. i was in a shit ton of heartache and in a state of anxiety and i wanted to hurt her before i ended up getting hurt myself so i chose to distance myself from her first. all so i could at least leave a strong emotional impact on her. in the end we did make up and now we’re just really good friends and ive long since moved on.
but well yeah, in this aspect, i understand heo jina so much even if our situations are kind of different. its really refreshing to see the same desperation and longing and regret being reflected in her character. its nice to see a yuri manhwa that fleshes out this human kind of sapphic longing
