Everyone has a different opinion, but I like it. The author actually includes a whole section with the intentional purpose of creating contrast to what is happening. She is showing us what it "isnt". To me that's very masterful, because it gives us a foil and foreshadowing all in one. I think people just lack reading comprehension and just wanted happy smut. I like how dark it is and how the panels become more red, because the entire point of these scenes is not "smut". It's a revelation. And the author is making us wait for what WE want. Which is love and mutuality. It's not here yet and we have to be patient.
