For there to be growth within the characters, it's inevitable for there to be angst in the plot. This wasn't a fluffy story to begin with so that should've been expected.

I guess they just decided to make the art style fit with the vibe of the story I personally like the old art better but it’s better than nothing. I think most deadlines are lengthy so the artist has a break and the art won’t be rushed like some of it was in season one. The artist was pushing them self to much to a point where they started getting sick which is why season 2 took so long to come out.
