I gotta give my honest review on Jinx now that it’s ending. Mingwa knew exactly what kind of story and characters she created. I know we all wanted Jaekyung to beg, crawl, and regret everything until his knees bled, but honestly, it wouldn’t fully make sense with someone like Kim Dan.
Kim Dan is the kind of person who simply doesn’t know how to hate once he falls in love, and he fell hard for Jaekyung from the very beginning. Despite everything he went through and all the terrible treatment he received, he never truly held grudges against him. His love was unconditional. He loved Jaekyung with all his flaws, no matter how destructive they were.
Would it have been satisfying to see Jaekyung chase after him and regret everything for a few chapters? Absolutely. But would it have changed anything for Kim Dan? Not really. Kim Dan never even hated Jaekyung enough to “forgive” him in the first place. He said it himself: everything was impossible anyway ... impossible to walk away, impossible to leave, impossible to forget him.
Maybe with other characters, we crave long chasing arcs and heavy regret, but Kim Dan was never written to be that kind of person. He’s just… too good.
I see that too, if jaekyung had begged kim dan to stay as soon as dan left the hospital, dan would stay. if jaekyung had waited 5 years and went back to Kim Dan, he still take him, cause just like you said Kim Dan is too good, they only issue is Kim Dan didn't have much of a personality apart from being too good, nonetheless I love the ending though.
