This story is so hilariously contrived and full of cliches but it’s almost in a back-to-the-classics kind of way that I can’t even be mad about it. I’ve been reading BL for over 20 years and I haven’t read anything that gave me 90s and early 2000s yaoi vibes like this in a long time it’s almost charming in a way. Like yeah it’s a story in the sense that it has events that happen in sequential order but that’s about where it ends. Two thumbs up would not read again
I might be stupid and I’m only 10 chapters in but I feel like I don’t understand the setting of this series at all, mc is stuck in a “game” but he can’t leave? It’s obviously not virtual reality or a theatrical way of depicting gameplay. Did he get sucked in unwillingly somehow or is there a company selling an evil ass Fuck You game that traps you in it and kills you and he bought it voluntarily? The details might be a spoiler but I feel like I need to know if I just need to continue suspending my disbelief for the rest of the series before I get too far into it cause the mc seems utterly unperturbed by the fact that he’s stuck in an actual video game

This mc is so cute I want to pick him up and squeeze him
