ok even starting from ch 26 it's not a 100% healthy relationship but on the other hand it might only seem like this because the alpha is actually aware that what he does is wrong, he has selfawareness, can control himself even when rutting (which never happens in any other omegaverse story) and really cares for the omega's opinion. while in omegaverses with "healthy" relationships the alpha doesn't give af, they are incapable of controlling themselves even if they adore their omega with the excuse of it being the fault of the pheromones/rut/heat and the omega excuses their behaviour as well. which is actually idiotic, toxic and I believe it should be much worse than what happens in this story. but because those stories don't show any resistance from the omega or conciousness shown by the alpha but this story here does... it makes this relationship seem more toxic than the "healthy" relationships in other omegaverses. even though it's not.
I feel with both of them. The omega is simply too broken. One year is barely enough time to digest what happened much less to even start healing. And the alpha doesn't know about any of this and therefore acts the only loving way he knows which unfortunately is the exact way to make someone as broken as the omega to feel like he's being imprisoned and can't breath. Hell, even I felt like that while reading this! Out of fear of loosing the omega the alpha tries to get closer to him only to make him retreat more and more. Therefore this relationship is kinda toxic due to all the misunderstandings even though it would be a perfectly healthy relationship if both of them were healthy and tried to understand each other more (which is nearly impossible due to heavy past trauma) and not easy when someone has been ignorant of the partners circumstances all this time...
