I would understand why people started hating her character at the beginning, but as the story progressed, I really started to not understand why almost everyone's comments about Amy here are still just hating on her. ╥﹏╥
I actually believe that Amy's character is pretty complex, and her behavior feels like something you would genuinely see from a young teenage girl who misunderstood the situation when she first saw Shirone at the academy. I don't think everything she did should automatically make her a bad character, especially when you consider her age and the circumstances surrounding her actions.
I would honestly prefer someone like Amy, who has been with Shirone through his ups and downs and has gradually become an integral part of his life, rather than Reina, who everyone seems to be rooting for. Their relationship feels more like a shortened crush Shirone had on his friend's older sister, rather than something that I can really see developing into a romantic relationship.
Amy just feels like a better match for him, especially when you consider their age and how their relationship has actually progressed. I really think the development of their relationship is gradual and happening at a pace that fits their dynamics and how they've grown to understand each other.
I haven't read the novel, but with how things are progressing in the story right now, I genuinely feel that Amy is such a strong and complex character. She carries her own weight, and genuinely tries to understand and get to know Shirone better. I really like that their relationship isn't rushed and that we're actually getting to see their bond develop naturally over time.
