i think its rlly stupid to go on here and go oh its fictional oh its historical oh he freed the slaves, he fought for the union when it being fictional has nothing to do with it being based off a real situation its not like its a random european based historical story with slavery dynamics like blood bank and ur usedto saying that for rape manhwas, it being historical isnt the problem dummy its how its dealt with, and the he freed the slaves when it was mandatory when he had the chance too before, and the union was racist they mostly wanted to get rid of slavery cuz of the bible and they never started fighting for slavery until late, ur not telling me that many white ppl r going to war to fight to death to free black ppl... the fact that u guys thinking freeing slaves cuz he has to and fighting with a group that was still mostly racist makes him a good slave owner or a good person when literally every slave owner in the north was doing that is literally what the white savior trope is, especially when their trying to so hard to make u feel bad for him... black and indigenous ppl r real ppl and they went through slavery for centuries not as an offhand thing or a little historical fact or situation u can treat however u want regardless of research, there r not there as a background drop and i need u niggas to stop claiming that the same ppl getting mad read rape absolutely not. the same ppl who dickride and ignore or like rape in bl manhwas are NOT hating on the author of under the greenlight when it even had a rape situation for 10 chapters straight not even for blantant racism but for racial ignorance... also rape bl likers r all mostly white as fuck so come again...

the point is this topic is too sensitive and recent of a thing that ppl still feel repercussions and had grandparents that lived through for u to write abt without reminding and informing the ppl who didnt learn abt this abt the slaves who were raped when it comes to every single slave master dynamic that ever existed, the babies that were eaten or fed to alligators or stomped into the ground, the slaves that were used for leather, for furniture, for George Washingtons teeth, and abt the union who were mostly racist and didnt initially fight for slavery until they wanted slavery free countries to not support the south with things such as weapons nd more and it seems like this mc were one of those ppl seeing that he only freed the slaves becuz of the emanicipation proclamation when he had the chance to free them before the war and now were supposed to expect to feel bad for him just cuz he lost his family and felt suicidal?? theres literally not enough emphasis on his hypocrisy and him being a bad person, were just meant to feel bad for him the whole time and the ppl saying "but he freed the slaves and fought for the union" r exactly the problem when most racists did all that back then.
