Girl be so fr, EVERYONE HAVE STRUGGLES AND TRAUMA, the industry nor the system isn't FAIR TO ANYONE. Just because the system works one way for one, doesn't mean he can assume it's the same for other AND ACTIVELY STARTS SABOTAGING OTHERS. regardless of what trauma, hell or shit you went through, that will never JUSTIFY your actions being shit to others. Don't weaponize your struggles especially when moondae and Testar literally DID NOTHING TO DESERVE THIS.

Cheongryeo is 10000% a messed up individual and his actions and even him SHOULD be questioned , despised, and disliked by the reader. Regardless of how the future of this story will turn out to be. Instead of trying to defend a character who obviously have problems, why not fully understand that first?

I didn’t say that you had to like him, I was just saying that not everything is black or white? And that people should try to view him with some nuance even if his actions are literally insane lmao. Based on how people are commenting, it felt like to ME, people weren’t understanding some of his actions before commenting. You don’t have to like someone at all even while understanding their actions, which is why I never said that people need to like him.

And yes, I personally like him a lot and I know he has a lot of reasons to be hated. Was I shocked that he told Moondae to commit initially? Yes, but I also realized it’s not because he genuinely wants Moondae to d/e because he hates Moondae and TeSTAR personally, but it’s rather that he was so used to committing himself and resetting his own life to better himself for the system that he’s suggesting it to Moondae for both Moondae’s sake and my guess, he wants to see if Moondae passes away, if it affects him/if he resets as well as someone who had the system. That is what I meant by people are missing the point with him.

If one understands this/interprets this from his actions and still hates him, I really don’t care cuz that’s their opinion. And if people just want to take what he does at face value without thinking about it then fine whatever but at the end of the day it’s MY opinion that the people taking it at face value are missing out on how baek doksoo writes stories, it is not something I’m forcing on anyone.

i feel like u're the one who's missing the point of cheongryeo's character though... for me he looks like he was written as someone who's obsessed with his life to be perfect, not because of the system but as a person himself, his act to me feel far beyond what it takes to survive (as in the bare minimum of the quest itself) he became obsessed to control every little thing of his life to prevent failure but this time he crossed the line himself by telling moondae to die for his favor. to be frank it's not fair with moondae too lol being thrown out in a stranger body mind you, and got threatened to die if he don't clear the quest lol. ofc cheongryeo doesn't know that yet, but in the last chapter he's basically telling moondae to die just because he's curious whether he will start over too or not, you're telling me he's not doing all of that to drag moondae with him too? hilarious

I don’t think I am missing the point? I was just saying that a lot of the reason why Cheongryeo acts the way he is is due to the influence the system had on his life. He’s only acting clinically insane over every part of his life BECAUSE the system gave him the ability to restart his life whenever he wants to. With how many times he’s reset, it absolutely messed with how he is as a person. Yes, he could’ve been a perfectionist before any of this, but there is no denying that the system absolutely made his obsesssion with needing to be a perfect idol.

And again, I wasn’t trying to defend what he said to Moondae when he wanted Moondae to reset to see if it affects him too, all I was trying to say was that the system affected how Cheongryeo views the value of any life, including his own. I don’t see how that’s missing the point of his character, the system made him worse and there’s no denying that.
