to be fair i think it's more complicated in japan, considering gay marriage isn't legal so they wouldn't legally be able to adopt as a couple. idk exactly how it works but i think it makes sense contextually that adoption might not seem like an option
Totally. It's so different and I read in another manga their marriage isn't even a marriage when it's between two man (idk about women tho) cause it's like and "adoption" from one of the families and tge partner is considered a son (not even a "brother")
So sad in so many ways
