I believe it was because his current form is similar to that of a corpse, while alive, it cannot change the fact that he's rotting with the passing of time(I think?)... the whole thing abt how his fears of coming out to his family while living in the countryside and how it’s just “all in his head” and that they will 100% accept him, that its just the environment that made him feel this way made me extremely uncomfortable. Yes, this can be the case for so many people, but coming from someone with a very understanding parent and with a good enough bond for trust to foster and then acting confused about how someone else’s situation isn’t the same is just so out of touch. Obv this is just a manga its not that serious, but i felt like if it was meant to have a productive take on the matter, it didn’t succeed.
So many people can be k!lled by their parents if they find out they’re gay, the law doesn’t protect children from their own parents in a lot of different situations and being gay is punishable by death in almost 90% of the world. so frankly, belittling his worries was just not it.
