So I read about the myth of Sisyphus wondering if I could find any clues, and if he had a dog (he doesn’t ☹).
Sisyphus tricked Thanatos and handcuffed them for a while. People stopped dying. Zeus got mad and send Ares to get him and free Death. So Sisy was dragged to the Underworld, but before that, he asked his wife to NOT properly burry him. Thanks to that, he convinced Hades to send him back on Earth, but Thanatos dragged him again. Then he was sentenced to roll a giant rock up a mountain, and the rock would always fall back down once he almost reached the summit.
I don’t know if this is where the story is going, I don’t know if I’d like for it to go there, BUT I think the whole maggot thing is definitely from Ahjussi tricking Death. Sisy is described as a trickster, very manipulative and ML definitely gives off those vibes. I also think he’s playing dumb (or just doesn’t know about human stuff).
I can’t wait for the next chapters ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
