She was probably 14-15 when she got pregnant. ( She was 19 when the emperor forced her to stay in the kingdom, so the ML was probably around 4-5 years old by then. )
Her reasons are valid but it's not justifiable.
Imagine how hard it was for a 14 OR 15 YEARS OLD to take care of the child who LITERALLY was forced upon her. (Probably had consent but I don't think she TRULY wanted to have him back then.)

I read that long time ago, but while it’s true their relationship started really bad, i don’t think there was any « action ». I would think it only happens later when they like each other, with absolute consent.
She’s also much stronger than him and has many ways to push him away or correct him if he’s truly too much, but if my memory serves me right, we’re just being duped in the second chapter :)
