As a nurse who has seen how terrible mental is in the US and often see how vulnerable patients support mistreat them , I empathize with the uke and I feel like I should give my two sense on how to approach someone in real life who is like him.
The uke and ml definitely need space and the uke definitely needs professional help. The ml is definitely amazing but the uke needs to work on his mental health and pick a better circle. I want him to just leave his whole life behind, family and friends included and start somewhere new. Like are we forgetting how his friend talk bad about him behind his back? How his brother constantly looks down on him? So I absolutely hate evey single comment shitting on the uke. Yes he has terrible communication skills and it's a bit frustrating, but I think that's what makes him realistic. I get it y'all will say this story isn't too deep but the uke clearly shows signs of trauma and possibly depression. He was being ridiculed by his friends ( even though y'all say they are looking out for him they are not doing it in a good way), the stalker trying to manipulate him, and even his brother. He was in a sensitive space where he feels like no matter what he does he will never be good enough. As y'all don't hyper fixate on comments other say, it's a trauma response to evaluate how to proceed in conversations. Yes he should leave the ml cause honestly he is not in a place to be in a relationship which so much self doubt. I want him to have the confidence he had in the beginning again but I totally see why he lost it.
And with all do respect if y'all think a real life person like him is "crazy" or "completely annoying" please leave them for their own good. They need time to heal to prioritize them sleeves without people continually ridiculing them. I know I will get comments from people who disagree or saying I am over evaluating a fake story, so I will not comment back. But as an adult I have seen how so many of these mangas are enabling terrible habits and judgmental attitudes in the youth. Like y'all will be pissed if others complain about there being raped in a story cause "can't they just enjoy it or drop if instead of complaining" yet will ridicule a character they dislike and I just don't understand why y'all have such an odd double standard. Some times these comments remind me there are middle and high schoolers reading cause I just can't with some of y'all.
