This is a late reply but yes, he died of su¡cide unfortunately. During the time when Tao was imprisoned and tortured by her previous boss, Jin took her disappearance as her abandoning him. It didn't really help that after her "sudden disappearance" all the abuse their father gave to Tao was directed to him since she wasn't at home.

From my understanding, he grew to hate her for abandoning him, and developed an alter ego that helped him in murdering the abusive father. Then he was, if I remember correctly, persuaded by that alter ego to hang himself. He became a Maga with the help of that white/light haired guy (I forgot his name), and possibly his goal in this maga life is to kill women as his trust for them was betrayed by his own sister (perhaps including their mother), though all that happened between him and Tao was a very, very terrible misunderstanding.

It's a sibling angst trope. I kind of deeply resonated with Tao as I am an older sister myself. Imagine thinking your brother disappeared, searched for him for 9 years, only to find out he had became one of the things you've been killing and hunting and also the fact that he thinks you abandoned him, when this whole time you've been protecting him and wanting to reunite with him. Tao is strong because I would bawl on the spot.

Oooh thank you for explanation!! When I was reading the backstory I got a bit confused and hopeful that maybe there is still hope that Tao and Jin can make up, because maybe the hate Jin felt for his sister wasn't his own thoughts :((
But now that you explained it, as sad as it is - that makes sense ㅠ~ㅠ I didn't even think about that this split perosnality wasn't maga doing but just mental trauma that happend earlier ╥﹏╥ poor Jin and Tao.. they really desreved better...
I wonder if Jin will resent both Alma and Tao because in his view his sister abandoned him, but then took in another person to take care for :(((

Yep, apparently I heard from one of the other comments that split personalities often happen to victims like Jin TT seeing from how he responded when Alma sided with Tao I think we're going to witness him going down that path you said... Plus the alter ego (I forgot his name.. Yomi? Yoru? Oh dear haha) did said he's gonna kill Tao so I think we all should be prepared for possible deaths in the future.. the girl Alma befriended already had me in shambles TT
