As for Laura, Ik she didn't have much power over it, but remember, in the backstory, she was being treated like a second wife almost by the servants cuz what if she gave birth to a son? Like in the earlier chapters, and then when she met later, she asked the husband why he didn't stand up for her. I would say all these gave me an ick. If I think about the wife’s point of view, he did give her enough power over him and she did use some of it if not all, and yes I would say the husband is to blame but for me I would resent Laura a bit too. I feel like it was Miran who liked Luka, not the other way around when some of us speculated that Luka might have liked Miran. Of course we can't be sure yet as we still haven't seen Luka’s perspective.
And where I do believe Miran was selfish in some parts, I think the fault lies more with her family especially the parents and the teacher. The girl was eating herself away with heavy depression and that's how you handle her? By not listening to her or being there for her? Letting her rot away in her room?
