I feel like the story has evolved into something, which author of the story did not expect coming. The title is hella misleading, book cover tells us it is a love triangle but yet it is not? Plot transformed twenty times already. In my country we would say that the script is written on the knee.
Well the whole first season was about the plot from the title and the story did evolve since then, but I don't think that it's misguiding. River gave Khaol so many chances and this shows that you can't change the person or stay with them after all the trauma you went thru for/because of them. Also at one point in time it was a love triangle and the 2nd ML won. It's just like life and I'm glad the author went with Heil because he is a much better and healthier choice. Also my guess is that Khaol will die and River will thank him for taking him as his groom, cause he wouldn't meet Heil or stop the destruction of the world and will forgive him in Khaols dying moments. That would tie the title to the end nicely.
