this was the manga that made me fall in love with bl. this was also one of the first bl manga that discussed things like mental illness and trauma in such an opaque and focused way...if we're being honest, ten count is probably one of the most influential bls ever. i remember when they kissed for the first time i genuinely cried my ass off...this story just touched me in so many ways when i was younger and its frustrating how such a masterpiece never caught a break, like with chapters being 3 pages long sometimes with months and months of waiting, the somewhat rushed ending, the adaptions getting cancelled over and over again.
but this is a classic that i reread every year and the official translations add a lot to the story to make it feel fresh. shirotani 4 life!!!

reread this for the first time in nearly 10 years. a popular opinion was that the plot is confusing, looking back i now see thats because the translations are really not good. dialogue is awkward and sentences arent formed very well. however i do think this author managed to create a very beautiful and unique world, although more couldve been done with it
i think the author figured that because rum and ginger are childhood friends their relationship didnt need to be developed much, which isnt how that works so they do suffer a lottt. rum especially is a totally bland character. i always preferred the side couple and now i can see why.... they have great chemistry and mananans redemption arc was quite good and mons backstory was nice. those two really became the star of the show while rum and ginger totally fell off to the wayside. anyways i appreciate this manhwa for being one of the first ever to pop off in the bl community. certified classic

YES this manhwa is LOWKEY a story about how upbringings can create different types of people, and the influence human beings have on each other. yoon couldve easily have ended up paranoid and immature like his brother, controlling like he in or weak willed and easily manipulated like pjo. but he said FUCK that and became a surprisingly mature and empathic and strong willed character and guess what he got his happy ending and as a bonus got the man he liked. YOU CANT SAY THAT ABOUT A LOT OF MANHWA MCS!
