What i dont understand is, why she is only like this with Asiel and not with the other brother and father. These two were horrible to her too.
From what I can tell in her first life, the Duke was pretty cold to her from the beginning and so was Michael so she didn’t really have any expectations of them even back then, but Asiel was at least decent to her at first maybe because he was away from the home more when they were younger, so Lorena’s curse couldn’t do as much damage at first and that’s why she fell in love with him so to her that betrayal was significantly worse than the Duke and Michael making it a lot harder for her to forgive him in this life. Plus, she’s also probably trying to keep herself from falling for him again so she has that added a barrier of not wanting to be close to him.
Micheal is easier because he is younger and spends way, way more time with her. She kinda just adjusted to him and he is very vocal in his support in this life.
As for the Duke it is his constant unwavering support and him almost dying that made it easier for her to move on.
I think it’s less about them and more about her healing as well as the feeling of punishment for things they haven’t done “yet/here”.
I’m super interested how she will react to someone who remembers their sins
