Unfortunately, the main page works on 2 different algorithms: 1st -- standard -- sees what is popular and directs more traffic to it and possible related stories. 2nd -- is random -- it randomly selects (sees) what more active and older account holders are reading and pulls a collective list (similar comics) from their lists and places it on the main page.
So the story you wish to block may be what's popular right now amongst the readers or it's a popular listed item for reading/read/want to read item in older and more active member's lists.
