I really need to get some things off my ChEst about this Manga...Some of you might not agree with me, but this is just what I observed and felt. I'll give a verdict that this manga is really good, and the author is impeccable in reaching out the characters emotions to us.
My feeling is that for some reason this story is very painful to read. I feel it's cause the author already showed the ultimatum first than rather than likely being the endgame. Mafuyu says the word "irreplaceable" how can one not feel sad for Uenoyama?. I'm happy that they are together, but there is something missing. The intensity of emotions conveyed between Mafuyu n Yuki was so deep that, it is nothing compared to between mafuyu n ueno. Ueno loves him dearly, but for some reason I feel Mafuyu now is unconsciously using him to get over Yuki. There is lack of display of affection from Mafuyu, something , I can't xpress which is very less compared to what he had for Yuki and he still loves him deeply( based on up to chapt 26). I know he is healing himself but I just feel sad for Ueno. I feel he'll only ever be a replacement of someone. It's just melancholic to see. Unless Mafuyu diplays actions that make us feel like Ueno is different n special.
AkixHaru- I initially wished them to be together but now I'm okay if Haru's feelings fade away. Picturing ourselves in his position is very very hurtful being in love with Aki. And then knowing the kind of indescribable bond Aki and Ugetsu share. And also the fact that Aki knows Haru likes him but can't help it because he is attached to Ugetsu in an inexplicable way and they shared a deep connection once. Though I feel their relationship is toxic, and psychological attachment than love, I still wish Haru didn't have to accept so much. I'm okay if Haru is a very good friend to Aki. Ending up with Aki, means accepting all of his past stigma, and that very residual feelings which he still would have for Ugetsu. Maybe they will end up together but there has to be something special between the end pairings to Give the Feel Good factor. For the moment til 26 chapters, I just don't feel it. It's like Mafuyu and Aki already had someone incredible in their life. Only they can make the readers feel that that Ueno and Haru are not replacements. I hope sensei gives that element of unique connection between the main couples from their previous lovers cause there is so much sadness because of the displacement of ultimatum.
I wrote this above but I wanted to reply to you.
"I don't think Mafuyu is using Ueno to get over Yuuki. Yuuki IS irreplaceable to Mafuyu but that doesn't mean he cannot fall in love with someone else. The time he shared and the memories he made with Yuuki are forever going to be with him and they're irreplaceable. Yes his heart is broken and he misses Yuuki but other people in his life can heal him — his friends, his family. Does this mean he's "using" them? We as humans move on from the death of our loved ones. And that's just how life is. We continue to live making new memories with other people in our lives. But this doesn't make the memories we made with our departed loved ones are any less significant.
So Mafuyu CAN love a new person. And I think he also knows very well that Yuuki is irreplaceable to him, that he still likes Uenoyama but they're both important. But he’s never going to completely “move on” from Yuuki. The feelings of grief, loneliness(and even happiness from their good times) are proof of how he was an important part of his life. But, that doesn’t mean, he should never be allowed to love a new person.
Mafuyu is actually very "mature" in this regard—he knows where his feelings stand. But he's also human. And he will struggle with his emotions (like his fear of losing a loved one because of a lack of communication), his relationship with Uenoyama will have ups and downs. But he's still moving forward. He's making music, he's making friends, sorting out his relationship with his old friends (hiiragi and shizusumi).
This is why I love sensei's work so much. The characters are so human. They have their struggles but they're moving forward and it pushes me to do the same. My goals seem reachable even if I'm struggling."
I don't disrespect mafuyu. My statement is directed towards uenoyama's position. I completely know Mafuyu's situation. But the bond shared by them is a romantic one, it's different from the one with friends or family. It just feel too rushed now, to declare a relationship cause he hasn't moved on at all. It will take more time for someone like him. It would have been much real to see if they started out slowly, through time where he heals and slowly is ready for another commitment. While memories can be never forgotten, the pain will decrease as time goes, and he will feel the feeling of wholeness with Uenoyama. It would have been more deep if it was paced more slowly. Cause right now I am sad for Ueno because Mafuyu only likes him, he likes Ueno but I used the word subconsciously using him cause he has not healed enough, to commit to a romantic relationship. It's complicated to express. As I said like they were friends for a longer time

It's my opinion, but this should have been named from points of 2. Like why is Sun-yool there? Just as a third wheel?. This story focuses on the relationship between jisuh and Haejee. Sorry but I feel he doesn't have an influence on either of them. Wouldn't have made a difference if he was a side character rather than drawing his as one of the leads. His relationship with Haejee is like nothing. Basically he's just there. His opinions and thoughts doesn't matter much to other two. and they wanted him out of their life. Until recently Jisuh contacted him, just because of the issue btw him and Haejee.
I'm team Sun-yool , and it's something I felt. There's no need to bash me, this is something I notice and that he is not doing any major influence on the story. It would've done much justice to the title, if there was an solid tension between all three or all three was being equally affected by a collective tragedy
I've been wondering about all the hate on DG, why to expect him to change so quickly?. Here are some things I feel we forget to discern.
1. Dg's personality- I'm sure Mingwa did a good character sketch of her leads. Personality and character plays a big role in what actions they take and how they think. DG is pure, very innocent and passive. Plus there are the added circumstances of being gay, inexperience, the whole sex friends with his idol, the early infatuation, and the yearning for affection is all new to him.
2. And apart from all the confusion he is in, he got drunk..that's bad!cmon we know what it is when we get zonked.
3. Something big n bad had to happen. I knew it cause there is no other way to really push both the characters forward, or they'd be stuck
4. Love makes people do stupid things, for eons it's a fact that exists. Change doesn't happen overnight that he gets enlightenment that "Oh this is what it is", no, it's going to take some triggering moments in his life to slowly make him realize and grow. Everyone chases things they want to their hearts content until they feel when it's time to give up. That moment of intuition none can decide but themselves. If DG didn't want to give up just yet when Chanwoo told him, then it's his wish to try till he is assured, n he is free to do so. He has not forced Alex like damn he can even!
5. I say Alex's actions are more irrational cause he is more mature and aware of things, he knows better than DG who is like a fish out of water who has a lack of knowledge on dealing with these new circumstances, plus the added nature of his personality. It's only 3 chapters back when Chanwoo advised him, things kicked off.
6. It's too early to say he's stupid. It won't be natural for his character and the scene he is in to suddenly just quit n walk away, there has to be some turning events. Chap 39 is one.
7. DG just leaving Alex n going,finding new guy and then alex chasing him feels very very superficial. Why would Alex care?, at the most he might get him again just to have sex. B Cause Alex has made his heart bullet proof, as a solution to prevent anything from happening as it did in the past. He is very difficult to communicate to. Its often said DG doesn't try to understand jiwon's past but he has only slowly started to grasp things, and he actually wants to but he doesn't stand a chance to go hit him up with such personal questions. I can imagine Alex's GLARE!. Even if you try he's only gonna get mad
8. It's better 39 happened. I don't see any normal way other than point 7 which just really doesn't seem probable.
9. It's only 39 chapters, which compared to usual manhwa length is still less than half way. This is not the end. The motive of the story is both the characters realizing their flaws, and coming to a better judgement of their self-worth and understanding their relationship. Sure it won't happen half way.
10. We know they'll end up together, but it's how such a contrasting pair overcome the these conflicts and do so is what I'm interested.

I just don't know how can she put so much effort into beautifully constructing Junseo and Jaewon's relationship and make Junseo one of the dearest of all...all of that..and then just leave Junseo like that...Though I'm happy for the other couple, the story feels unfinished and incomplete without a resolution for Junseo.
I really yearn for s2 and his happiness

The author might have to write her butt off to make it work, they have never expressed any kind of interest to share a good bond with each other. Neither there was no situation so far to even create such a potential for a connection to develop.Mayb cause redhead's emotions are somewhat bland and I find him quite superficial, while Junseo is a very passionate individual. It's just my opinion, can never say what happens.....But I still ship them though
How come I never noticed this manhwa. I read this in just a day. I instantly fell in love with Yohan and Park ( sorry can't correctly type name). They're so cute.
About this manhwa- Inviting story, Charming characters, Good Humor, Pleasant set up.
It was able to capture the framework of school life in a very simple, yet vivid enough to make me rewind those good old days. Yohan's expressions are golden!. His laziness, typical student life, - we all have been there lol!
I had a good laugh. That is a + point. It's always a nice feeling to read something that makes me smile. Life is better when you're laughing ..they say :D
Another thing that impressed me was how simple the story is yet it conveys , maybe little but powerful messages. Even the the emotional and social hardship that park faces due to his homosexuality was portrayed very much realistically and was able to relate to it.
A light read that makes you feel good I'd say. It isn't too complicated and the actions of the characters are pretty much rational , without being overly dramatic or unsettling to understand and relate to.
I'm glad I came across this. Seriously these two should make a guest appearance in Unripened Expression..haha that face tho :P funny funny Yohan..I love himm
