The usual omegaverse SA is in here and I don’t know if it’s the art or the writing but wasn’t feeling the chemistry between the leads. A pity because I actually like a beta pairing with an omega or alpha.
i was thinking exactly the same thing the story and writing really fell short for me, personally. a disappointment
I don’t usually go for yandere / toxic BLs but execution-wise, this wasn’t bad. The creators took their time exploring their motives/ psychology/ backstory, so by the time the first scene (make no mistake, 75% of their smut was dubcon at best) rolled around I was too invested to drop. I was rooting for Peter even if he was way too nice and I enjoyed the comedic foil of the two ceo types knowing exactly how psycho the ML is. That being said, this wasn’t a love story but a hostage situation.
Whoever came up with that lame trope of ML ‘possessively’ (ie super roughly, angrily) f*cking the MC after they are SA’d to ‘overwrite’ the rapist should have his micropeen shrivel up and fall off. This ML doesn’t actually know but he’s clearly missing the empathy chip. And none of these people appear to be using condoms! That gangster looks like a petrie dish of STDs. EDIT: to the person who downvoted this, how does it feel to tell on yourself?? Is it because I used the word ‘micropeen’? Lmao.
But damn, loading up the dude with alcohol after ML noticed MC already impaired (more than tipsy) to the point he thought he peed himself (seriously?) did not pass the vibe check. Even if ML did help him get a job and put up with his stalking (does it count if they stalked each other?)— that’s called taking advantage of a person. Also dude said ‘no, stop…’ at least twice, and got totally ignored.

This story deals with IPV and starts off great. The author tries to do an m night shyalaman twist and fails spectacularly, because A. There’s not enough space for a proper resolution. B. ml acts totally out of character after said twist C. author cheapens the IPV storyline, characters and tries to f*cking justify the abuse. Straight trash.
Man this started out so strong with the mistaken- identity meetcute and the build up of their friendship and feelings. The concept of flowers being a central part of Sei’s character was fresh too. I was enjoying the slow burn but it just ended so abruptly, like the author stopped caring about the characters. They need a new editor because who okayed this? On a high note though— no SA, no dubcon, no noncon.
Get gr00ming allegations a lot especially if they knew the other lead in childhood but this one DEFINITELY IS. ML makes a proposal to an 8 year old and shows up 12 years later to collect on the promise of a kid (dumb because minors can’t consent properly to sex let alone marriage) and if he had stayed gone for those 12 years maybe he’d skate by. But come to find he used to do ‘big brother’ things with the child MC while thinking they’re engaged?? Hell naw.
I couldn’t concentrate on the story because the scan group decided to do a whole ‘director’s commentary’ of the story and placed it in the same area where they put the SFX.
