A bit manipulative bc he clearly from the beginning likes the MC? yes absolutely
He's clearly smitten with him and going about wooing him not in the best way
But he's always trying to help MC (again only bc he likes him, but of course you do things for the person you like)
But he has never assaulted or forced anything on the MC which is SURPRISING considering how much y'all let pass in most of the omergaverse titles
Honestly the worst thing he's doing is marking without letting MC know it's him the whole time, which clearly MC WILL get mad about
But honestly that's the only "crime" he needs to get punched at least once for tbh
I honestly agree that we've seen WORSE, but I think what makes him so disliked by a lot of the commenters is more like his personality? Like he's so gaslight-ish and manipulative, but they trying to make him look hot and borderline consensual with that?
I mean for me, it's better for me to see an outright red flag charas (so I can hate them properly), than the ones where the author trying to make them look cool, nonchalant and kind of yellow flag-ish with hints of manipulation, when in reality, a lot of readers see it as annoying and cringe.
Plus, I think that, combined with the flow of the story itself what makes me personally don't like him. But idk, this is a really personal view.
