Midnight's Manga

A readable story but I probably have a slightly better opinion of it due to skipping like 65-70% of it since it's so obvious. If I had put up with the MC for the entirity of it I probably would have a different opinion though, 'cause honestly, the MC is too dumb both for his position and to live.

He investigates for 4 months+ but fails to notice that all serial murder victims have a trait in common: they all have similar features, and they look like him. (Meanwhile, ML knows exactly what is going on, he is just throwing a hissy fit and refuses to help with the case because MC forgot about their encounter.) Even 'till the end, MC doesn't even entertain the thought his baby could be the ML's. This includes after giving birth and the baby looking like a clone of his father, the thought only occurs to him when one of his visitors jealously points it out to him. I get he only remembers his partner having red hair but they were at a masqurade party for Christ's sake... And finally, at the very end of the story he goes to investigate a white drug case and he just accepts the drink handed to him by the bar owner with zero defence. You'd think after already being a victim of the drug once he'd have some basic vigilance but nope. My favourite brain hole of the story is definitely the audacity of the owner though. Just under which rock did he live so far that he didn't recognize the current crown princess following the whole circus sorrounding the leads' wedding of the century???

Tldr: If you only read BL then this is a nice change from the usual extreme toxicity between the main couple of the mpreg genre (doesn't mean ML is good though, he's quite the disturbed individual too) and a tolerable read with your brain leaning towards the off side. However, if you are into female lead romances as well then this really has nothing new to offer. It's basically a "dumb female lead running with the ball after a one-night stand" story. One that's made unnecessarily long by the MC not possessing even a modicum of the IQ suggested by earning his position due to his capabilities and by taking the usual, cheap cop out route of misunderstandings caused by communication error between the leads.

Another masterpiece by the author of From Faraway ~ Miriam and Douglas are so cute together ^.^

Still hoping like hell the mangaka will finish this... T.T

In love. One of the rare shoujo mangas that I absolutely adore. - If you want a heroine that's not useless, give this a try :)

it's definitely worth reading (re-reading n times as well), but tissues are a must.
