I saw someone comment the plot is the same as the melting point? Is that trueee?
I do get why it feels similar coz they both have the sports theme going on, the young top having unrequited love for the older bottom no helping for the fact that both tops are absolute yearners lol. I guess the only difference is that Dash is omegaverse based and they have children later on sort of giving spoilers I hope you don't mind
In terms of tropes and motifs, yeah lots of similarities. But the biggest difference is in the execution.
Dash is much more focused on the sport itself, as well as the politics behind the scenes and the mechanics of the tournament. In essence a lot more technical. It's also a slower burn.
Melting Point is a lot easier to digest. It's faster paced, more comedic, more horny, and spends more time focused on the characters and the primary relationship. There's not much emphasis on the side chars the way Dash does.
So it really depends on what you're looking for
There's a bit of similarities. I first read melting point so when I started to read Dash, you can somewhat already predict what happens (ML agreeing to sign up to the agency of MC, ML suggesting a contract, ML liking MC for a long time etc but that's about it iirc) Not saying Dash is ambiguous about ML feelings towards MC but it shown a bit more subtle compared to MP wherein it's overtly obvious.
They differ in terms of execution (Dash slow-paced | MP fast-paced) and the characters. In Dash, ML started off somewhat a tsundere and bratty while in MP, ML is quite freaky lol. The MC in MP also fell a bit fast imo (he got jealous over a rumored gf of ML) while the MC in Dash is quite hesitant. I also think the setting in Dash is more fleshed out, whereas in MP, the setting feels more like a background prop.

Are they switch or am I just tripping?
They are. You can see them in the side story Camping
