She’s trying her best with the situation she’s in to be a good mother to her son; you can’t blame her for wanting to stay away from him. Korean manga like this one often have dumb female protagonists. It makes me wonder if they see females in this way or if it’s just part of the story
I, mean, yeah. But, she lied to him about an abortion for 5 years and expected him to come and save them. Then, she got mad when he didn't and proceed to say that he abandoned them. He has repeatedly shown that he is going to take care of the family, and she doesn't trust him, which causes many of the problems presented.
I am not saying that she didn't have a hard time, and I am not invalidating her pain. The ml, whilst bad at communication, continues to try. From him, we see continual growth, unlike the fl.
She has trouble trusting him and being a mother makes her extra cautious. She only lied to him because the white hair lady threatened to kill her if she didn’t; it’s not like she had much of a choice. In fact, she hasn’t been able to make any choices in her life other than deciding to give birth to her son despite the circumstances. She wants her and her son to have a normal, peaceful life instead of getting caught up in the male leads drama. She’s trying her best considering she doesn’t have many choices in the matter. Can’t argue with the people that have guns. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

No. His magic doesn't hurt her because he doesn't want to hurt her.
He most likely fell in love at first sight and that's why his magic didn't affect her from the very beginning but he didn't realize it because he had always been protecting himself with his magic subconsciously
Honestly I still think she has some kind of ability because otherwise why did the bitches magic fade? Also I get that he doesn’t want to hurt her with it but still he didn’t even look at her right in the beginning and she still wasn’t affected so I don’t believe it’s just romance stuff, that and the bitches magic didn’t affect her when it was affecting all of the guards. Then there was that first experiment, he can’t control it so he can’t just target some people while not affecting others so if it really affected her it should have worked when it was affecting everyone else when he wasn’t touching her. When he touches her he can’t use it at all.
I wonder if she has some ability to negate magic, take away their mana, or something like that. It would make sense for magic that their ancestors rejected to manifest in a different way like this especially when magic can’t really activate normally in their region due to the thin about of mana.

Uhh didn't they already explain that his magic didn't affect her because he didn't see her as a woman at first? Like in the clothes and stuff he just didn't think of her as a potential threat as a woman or he thought she was a dude or something? Idk it's been a while but I think I remember them already explaining this.
I remember them trying to figure out why, but it was all just guessing. But certainly he doesn’t see maids and his mother as potential threats. Plus Lynette is pretty while the palace must have lots of plain Girls and elderly ladies whom he definitely wouldn’t have seen as women in that sense. He certainly sees her as a woman now and it still doesn’t affect her. I might try to go thru the chapters again later.
