If you don’t like this, then don’t read it! It’s like reading porn and then complaining that it objectifies the people involved… uh, maybe bc you’re reading porn? Go read something else that doesn’t normalize rape then instead of complaining here about a comic that’s all about rape. What’re you gonna do anyways, force authors to bend to your will? Stop with the fucking purity culture, you’re literally reading on a site that steals authors works without their permission. Get off your high horse you dumbfucks.its fucking fiction, it doesn’t actually hurt anyone in real life. Let people create and enjoy what they want, everyone has free will, this shit isn’t contributing to sex trafficking, it’s just a fucking comic. If you’re going to complain about this shit, then actually DO something about it instead of just whining your asses off, help actual rape victims instead of acting all high and mighty with your morals.
Then why don't I see the same people complaining about this shit also talking about how hentai and actual pornography too? Everyone's a fucking hypocrite here, acting all high and mighty, like yeah I like fucked up shit, but I ain't watching snuff films you dumbfuck, bc I don't promote that shit, nor do I want to support it. This comic is just fictional, so why are so many ppl complaining abt it, like r u trying to censor it or smth? Wtf do you expect your complaints to do about it? you want more "healthy" yaois - GO READ THOSE INSTEAD OF READING TOXIC YAOIS THEN. It's like reading scifi and then complaining that it's not fantasy or reading hentai and complaining that youre reading hentai, for fucks sake gtfo
did you just learn how to cuss or something jesus christ.. you wrote a whole essay of just pure gibberish and i genuinely don’t know what to say back to you because nothing you just said makes any sense. you’re calling people hypocrites and purists for saying that the rape was completely unnecessary? and then going around and saying that just because you like fucked up shit it’s okay just because it’s fictional LMFAOO
I won’t say I totally agree but I do agree with you why are people reading toxic trope yaoi just to complain. But I honestly blame it on TikTok! If it weren’t for TikTok Yaoi itself wouldn’t be so seen and we wouldn’t be dealing with the influx of people complaining. Because listen back when this site was still obscure we had complaining but not to this degree. And you are right that the Korean and Japanese authors will NEVER I repeat NEVER listen to Western readers complaining lmao they barely listen to THEIR own readers. So they throwing shit at wall at this point and hoping it’s sticks which it isn’t as we can see. Half of the time these authors think we can’t even afford to read their work so why should they listen to us . But anyway I get where you are coming even if the delivery wasn’t to most liking. I will still never understand reading something than constantly complaining about it. I love it when for a couple years we couldn’t comment it was very peaceful !
"MOST women clearly have better moral compasses than men" That's a pretty sexist take imo, what makes you think that women are more morally upright than men? Speaking of "target audiences", the same can be said with BL (not just gender specific), but personal tastes, such as the genre, etc. Some ppl prefer fluffy BL, others prefer the fucked up shit. What's the point of complaining abt how fucked up a BL is when it's literally supposed to be fucked up??? You're basically complaining abt it for being what it is, like make that make sense bitch.
"and will call out problematic things in the works they enjoy" There's a difference between straight up complaining and obv not enjoying smth (which is what most of you dumbasses are doing) compared to actually critiquing it. Being like "this manhwa is so dark and messed up i dont want to read it anymore" and then going on and on abt other random unrelated shit like how toxic yaoi is nowadays, like if u don't like it and aren't gonna read it, then just fucking move on already. dont go commenting abt this or that unless ur actually critiquing the manhwa itself.
I don’t think the story was bad, but it was kinda depressing how their reunion went, like the happy memories they made as children was so cute, and although they had a good ending, it feels like they really changed and kinda ended up getting hurt by the world, by each other, and by other people, especially Luan’s family (I actually hate his fam, they seem gaslighting, like why couldn’t Shane have become the heir? Why’d they have to send Luan off to some other country?
I’ve been thinking about a theory that maybe Bada is actually a player and everyone else are just NPCs, bc so far it seems like no one knows how they ended up in the game, but from the very beginning Bada already knew how to play it and the mechanics going on and horror video game stuff that everyone else wasn’t as familiar with, bc they keep calling Bada a NPC, but how do they know that he’s actually one since in the beginning chapters Bada thought it was the other way around, where everyone else was NPCs, and maybe the reason why he can’t kill the serial killer is bc he’s actually the developer so he can’t directly interfere with the world, compared to NPCs who are meant to exist in it, idk maybe I’m totally wrong haha
Bada knows his way around bc it’s stated that he’s a massive horror nerd (somewhere at the beginning of the manhwa) so he knows all of the cliches and tropes that happens in them. Horror isn't that difficult to figure out it’s literally just a bunch of overused formulas with scary soundtracks so I don’t think he’s the real player. Even if they’re in a game right now surely they have a life before all of this and Bada probably has a hobby that involves a lot of horror media
I was thinking that maybe Bada is such a massive horror nerd is because he was the developer and idk if they all remember their lives before this, I think that would be interesting to know how much they actually remember, since so far they haven’t given a n indication I don’t think, like they don’t ever talk about what they did before they went on the trip, like nothing about how they should have never gotten into the car in the first place or stuff like that, uke hat I mean?
Rn I do think they are real people, I can’t say for sure since this manhwa doesn’t give that many info and that’s what makes it a good read, keeps you curious, it gives leverage for the author to decide and add any kind of twist or element into the story bc the readers aren’t given any kind of clues or “dots” to connect (yet) not until later on as the story progresses so rn I’m going to believe Bada and everyone else are all real people who are stuck in some kind of paradox
Given that the main attraction with the characters is the mystery behind them it’s normal for them to not talk about their past (writing-wise), it’s not like they have the leisure or nor thought to do so either. When they’re not “playing” their attention is only on their supposed hiking/tourist trip and they’re friends too they already know a lot about each other’s lives so thinking in their perspective, the only conversation I would’ve had with friends that I already know, would be our activities in this mountain. And even if they are aware of their surroundings when they go back to being ”players”, they’d be too busy avoiding the killer and looking for clues to be talking about their pasts.
And with Bada being a horror nerd, it doesn’t mean that he’s a horror game dev but that is also a possibility. I’m just saying that him being a game dev while stuck in a horror game is too easy of an answer. A horror nerd can be just anyone who spends a lot of time watching horror movies and playing horror games then analyze them for fun. When I said horror is easy to figure out, I mean it, it’s literally just tropes on tropes on tropes and any horror nerd can pick up any flag/clue/sign and could guess where the next jumpscare is or what scary scene will happen next.
Trapped in the game just like in SAO is also plausible, but imo making the whole thing to be something like a “oh it wasn’t real” type of deal feels, idk kinda cheap, but I can’t deny the possibility either. I’m leaning more towards with the game existing as a supernatural distortion of reality, given that there is also a few mentions of demons and rituals all over the mountain.
My theory is that the mountain itself is like a limited area where the paranormal things happen, like the opposite of whatever a “haven” is, you enter it then unknowingly start the chain of events and you can’t escape until you defeat the final boss/solve the mystery kind of deal. If Bada had some kind of factory reset and reverted back into being an NPC *after* his tape went missing, or maybe even broken (we don’t really know what seungchan did afterall), what if everybody else’s tapes were broken too or at least removed from the speakers, would that just make them start all over again with their data erased but still stuck in the game or like Bada would they also have a factory reset too where they’re no longer aware of the game.
They did start *outside* the mountain, what if by some miracle they turned back and went home without knowing the game at all. The first time they actually tried this failed but that’s bc they already know and started the game. But I don’t have any evidence for that too, Idrk what’s gonna happen, authors like these troll me all the time
Ooh, I really like your trapped in the mountain paranormal theory! It reminds me of the game Oxenfree where they’re kinda trapped in a time loop, maybe they are in a video game but what if it became haunted or something? Like the video game itself is possessed or something and trapped them there so that’s why they can’t escape even when they’re outside of the mountain because they’re already technically trapped? So like instead of it being like their brains are stick in the game like SAO, it’s they’re souls instead?
Not exactly. I don’t really believe that their souls or brains are trapped in a game. Just bc they’re stuck in a timeloop that resembles a game doesn’t mean that they’re in a literal videogame. I meant that they’re in the real world physically and the mountain itself is paranormal due to some curse or demon rituals since there were some bits in the manhwa that shows pentagrams and whatnot. It’s more like they’ve been spirited away by some deity or entity since they are in a mountain afterall.
Who says anything about *only* their souls or brains taken away? At least with my theory it’s their whole entire being physically and everything are in the mountain that I think is cursed and is keeping them trapped there. That’s what being spirited away means, they disappear and nobody can find them bc they’re “kidnapped” or “taken” by something supernatural. They may have spent a lot of time in the mountain but for other people unaffected it’s probably only been a couple hours or a day that’s passed.

was the blue blood guy a robot? cuz the doc called him a npc and the stabby guy called him an ai
Woah idk why i didnt process that, yeah
Bro, I am so used to blood colors being whatever color in different medias that it didn't register to me blue blood was not normal here lmao
