She blackmailed him into sex, that doesn't mean its consensual. And her crying and saying she loves him doesn't absolve her crimes, she is a creepy stalker and a predator.
In mangas where the ML is a stalker yandere, it is atleast recognized as such. They show the ML is someone who needs to earn his redemption, or that the relationship is pretty effed up and the are rolling with that. Here this behaviour is considered romantic. It isn't. At all. The premise of this story literally is "her magic vagina makes him obsessed, and that is love"
The only person with a personality and a brain here seems to be the grey haired maid, mary. She's the only person worth reading this for.
The MC used to be ignorant, but reasonable (how did she not even suspect after that many close shaves that these dragons would have figured out her identity??). Now they're fully stripping away all her IQ. She straight up sees a spy and says fuck yes, I'll jump on your carpet in the middle of the night as you take me to an unknown location. Then leaves her brother with yet another stranger. Then goes and lies to mermaids/sirens who she KNOWS can always see the truth, because that WAS THE REASON SHE WANTED TO MEET THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE.
For someone so incredibly suspicious and cautious of the dragons who were always kind to her, she is unbearably trusting of strangers. By that I mean she's being incredibly stupid right now.
First up, helianne is the most innocent, righteous and the most instrumental in finding the fl when she selfishly runs away after deceiving her loved ones. And yet she's treated like a piece of dirt by everyone apart from her mother (who is ironically the villain). She isn't actually the thieving and naturally "blessed" girl the fl makes her out to be, but with their actions the fl, ml and the best friend have given helianne enough reason to turn around and betray them.
The ml was a 16 year old who fell in love with a neglected 12 year old, due to off screen "reasons", which were at best a savior complex. Though somehow the story makes the fl look worse than this ml.
Lastly, the fl. In an attempt to make a strong, independent and driven fl, the author instead wrote an OGFL villain. Purposefully leads on multiple men who she knows are, or will be in power. Claims to be self made but very conveniently forgets how much her fiance, her best friend etc have done for her. Not to mention how she's so NATURALLY GIFTED that in a time where wizards don't exist, she was able to learn magic, summon creatures and make contracts before she reached 16, without any proper instruction. And she also forgets all the education, opportunities and start up capital that being the daughter of a duchess gave her, due to which she was able to start in the first place. The only difference between her and a very hated OGFL character is the she doesn't even pretend to be nice and thoughtful.
This story would be much nicer if the fl wasn't the main character, but the ogfl in a novel where rohan (who isn't possibly creepy) gets married to an actual fl because helga kept rejecting him and stringing him along, and then the fl slowly but surely shows him helga's true self serving personality.
the author/artist was told to wrap up the series in a limited number of allotted chapters. I honestly like ashtarte, she wasn't too calculating and cruel like so many fls are, only using and discarding love interests (looking at you, penelope), but she also wasn't stupidly forgiving, and held true to not forgiving her family for the neglect and abuse.
So many plot points that were set up didn't get their due time to resolve, and had to be discarded or resolved off screen. Shame, really. This would've been a good series to read fleshed out.
To be fair, what I like about Penelope tho is even though she needs those love interests she’s not a pushover. She will call them out on their bullshit even if it makes things harder for her
I mean penelope is in a virtual game they are nothing more than game characters for her plus she's trying to survive so being cruel is inevitable
Larissa here is clearly psychotic, stupid and entitled. But from another POV, she's the villainess who reincarnates in so many other stories and the oriML and oriFL (Alphonso and Ariadne here) suffer there.

Wicked Ladies-in-waiting VS Bad Maids. One sounds like nice read for a ladies' book club, with tea and gossip. The other is a low-budget porno. What is with this obsession with changing the fan-translated title, when it is clearly much better?
