I really love this story! It goes to show that love and partnership isn't all about sex and trivial things. Its about genuinely caring for someone other than yourself. It’s the nuances that I live for in this manga. It’s knowing that the person you’re with is a human being and not an object to satisfy your own pleasure.

As a long time fudanshi, edgy and dramatic stories with definite shock value are quite common in BL stories. They're available left and right, and to be honest, it kind of gets old (not that I don't love edgy and dramatic).

Having stories that are "mediocre" or just a depiction of a regular everyday person's life is quite refreshing. It definitely allows more people who live relatively normal lives compared to the plots in BL stories to relate to it.

And let me just put this out there, cliches are unavoidable in any story, especially with edgy and dramatic stories. I'd describe it as more cheesy than cliche. A certain cliche in any romantic story is when neither of the lead characters explicitly or outright say the three word phrase, which leads to uncertainty in both leads. In this story's case they say it to the point that it gets cheesy, which is cute and refreshing. But as soon as other authors pick up on this, it'll be the new cliche of BL stories and the old cliches wont be "cliches" anymore (rinse and repeat).
