i thought the main arc wrapped up fine. side stories are just supposed to be fun little asides/au explorations that don’t have a place in the main story, if you’re going to have a season-long dogblood soap opera arc then why not just continue the main story LOL. ruined all goodwill i had for this manhwa
thanks for clarifying! my bad for misunderstanding but i stand by my point about side stories usually being saved for snippets not fitting into the main story or au explorations. i felt no notable distinction between them and s3 and incorrectly assumed it was just a continuation and criticized it as such.
to be honest, i started this because i thought even if it was underwhelming, at least i would have only spent 27 chapters’ worth of time on it. the premise was decent, but if you’re not a fan of men continuously making the worst decisions they could and also their violent, emotional outbursts, you should make better choices. unlike me. also, the sameface syndrome was really taking me out… as someone who is pretty decent with telling apart faces (had zero problem with sugar trap), i really had to rely on hairstyles and outfits to differentiate between the mc and ml.
enjoyed the ending though but unsure if it was bc it was good or i was just glad this was over with
god, jumal’s skill with panel work and building tension is so masterful. the way she conveyed the depth of what happened without outright showing it is rarely seen in all types of media, especially manhwa, which does have a habit of romanticising and glorifying abuse. what irks me is that here you have an amazing storyteller who is using her work to explore themes of abuse and guilt and their cyclical nature and some individuals are going “eeeww why did this have to happen” like be so fr rn. go back to reading campus romance lmao. i’m glad issues like these are being handled well and not just thrown in as another cheap setting.

Found this by accident and ended up buying the chapters on lezhin after reading on here, that's how much of an impact it had on me lol. I haven't experienced such interesting worldbuilding in bl manhwa in a while and it's also really well done. The 90s setting, the Y2K scare, the delving into South Korea's issue with cults, and this cult particularly as a front to soft launch mpreg by pharmaceutical means... I'll be keeping up with it.
On another note, I see people on socmed saying this is an A/B/O origin, but the story says nothing to indicate that at all...? All indicators point to mpreg as a result of pharma and medical intervention and uhhhh human experimentation :c Seongsu I hope the best for you... oh my god
