I cry so hard every time I read this...
Even though I like the story I still think at some point it gets extremely mmm how should I say it,,,, improbable? (in spanish would be: inverosimil) like yeah life can be very dramatic and sad sometimes but Lewis's life is pure suffering in order to make us feel more empathy for him!!! he distanced from his parents to be with a man, then they died in a car accident, his grandpa died too, he has leukemia, then THE MAN he abandoned his family for becomes the worst human being in the world and nobody knows EXACTLY HOW and WHY?? Adolph used to be so sweet with Lewis... I think I missed the part where the personality change is explained!! it gets ridiculous how bad Adolph becomes throgh the years, the devil itself!! he doesn't even allow Lewis to keep a pet OR A PLANT
It's a little bit exaggerated to me, the cheating part is awful but it gets unstoppable worst, it wasn't even necessary to go that far to make us feel empathy for Lewis, only with the cheating thing we hated Adolph, the bloody r4pe and all the violence was totally unnecessary（￣へ￣)
We all know Adolph starts to feel "sad" for the things he did to Lewis just for the leukemia diagnostic, we all know cancer is objectively a tragic illness.
I'll say it again, I like it and I've reread it too many times but I still think is exaggerated and hurtful on purpose to make the readers cry being extremely sad and McTragic...
