Funny cause that's almost the reason why my husband and I got married. While my husband (boyfriend at the time) and I were discussing our future together we got into topic of what would happen in an emergency. That's when I said well I won't be able to do a lot because I'm not "family" so even if we try to discuss this it won't changed since I won't have a word in it. Same goes for you to me. Then after several more of the same conversation we both just said ok so the best solution is to be married and be a family lol. He did eventually do the whole proposal bit properly (?) later in years but thats when we know that we would be together
