Deym i was shocked to see a clear clean translation for like Capter 1 -4 only to get the usual translation for cn manhwa once again by chapter 5…. Its hard to go back from luxury to beggar once again…

Most of the time Murim stories have this Harem thing going on or the MC simply just went kill kill kill. This one has an established family a loving wife and a cute daughter. So the story can proceed as an adventure action rather than women flocking around him. MC isn’t looking for a fight but he also doesn’t go blindly fight for the righteous and revenge as soon as he got the second chance in life unless they touch his reverse scale which is his wife and daughter and now the Peng clan, which I love, simply because this mean that this MC still has humanity in him to live in a way that revenge won’t consume him. In a way he is just enjoying his second chance but also trying to be stronger so he could protect the family he once lost. After his talk to his BIL he also began to openly show his strength, tho still being lowkey about it not really announcing to the world that he has the strength to fight strong people. the villains seems to be the generic demonic cults and of course the politics of Murim but thats to be expected, Murim is after all a world where the strong eats the weak. Its early on the story but I hope his character continue to progress in a way that doesn’t stray too much away from how it was in the beginning.

So I felt like MC is just oblivious to the fact that his brain works way too different to normal people (he is a genius and he knows that) so when he thinks of solutions, he seriously works it out instead of just letting it be, he reads and actually prepares before he talks, that’s why most of his predictions fail because he came too prepared for someone wanting to fail (a genius working hard is bound to be successful no matter how much they try not to). He uses his own standard to predict other people’s reaction that is why it fail, his own standard of average is already above average.
His cousins and brother isn’t exactly a high achiever so him entering a prestigious university or even his second choice or his actual choice of school isn’t exactly for average people. The grades he thinks average isn’t exactly average.
This MC is my favorite kind of MC, he’s so apathetic to people around him. All he loves is learning new magic and sorcery lol he’s a glutton to knowledge and I love that he has no moral compass hahaha
It has a nice premise but I can smell harem from afar. I thought I’ll give this a shot but then the niece starts streaming her uncle without consent hell nah, I can feel how annoying the girls in this authors world will be they were not my cup of tea… Good byeee

Negligence of the child is indeed abuse but the thing is ML got r*ped by a maid that became his wife then had the child look like that maid. He knows he shouldn’t be distant he knows he should be a good parent he knows full well that the child need a parent. But the thing is whenever he sees the child he felt nauseous he cant digest the fact that a child came from . He was his own child but at the same time his mind associate Noah with his r*pist please find yourself to understand that. As a parent his enemy was his own mind. I’d rather have him neglect the child than look at Noah with disgust and disdain at the very least the child doesn’t remember him. All the child knows is that there is a father that is distant and please bear in mind aside from being a father he is also a duke his people depends on him the moment he fell everything will fall so I understand where the MC is coming from when she decides to drink the poison meant for the ML.
As for the age gap the setting was from an era where 12-14 yrs old getting married to older guys is normal. MC wasn’t even a real 17 year old so the age gap doesn’t bother me one bit, My friend’s grandma got married at the age of 13 to a 24 yr old. Thats how it was on the early days.
I would like to point out ML neglect is indeed abuse but find it to yourself to understand where he is coming from. As for his misogynistic views towards female it stems from his experience with women. MC doesn’t have a good reputation int the first place, so you add those two together you have a very bad case of first impression which got resolve early on because the MC proves herself to be a decent human being. ML didn’t even consider her a female when he recognized her, he recognized her as a very intelligent and competent person.
