She and other people went back and forth regarding illegal sites. I wonder if this all have to do with Skylar?

Do what I do, buy the chapter on Lezhin then take part in the discussion here. Yes, the price has been raised to 4 coins now, which adds up, but it's the right thing to do.

    * also, reading the comments, people are defending theft because "kids can't afford to pay" to paraphrase, but comics like Killing Stalking, and most yaoi are not meant to be viewed by those under 18 at the end of the day.

Indeed, but should that mean an entitlement to stolen content, which obviously harms the creator? The Lezhin comics on this site are just ripped from the English website, they aren't fan translations of unlicensed work for example.

They do though, and there obviously is a market for English translations of non licensed work, mangago makes this easy to access, and people are prompted by scanlators to purchase raws. However, things like the Lezhin comics like Love is an Illusion, Killing Stalking etc are officially translated and easily available on Lezhin. Mangago offers people an easy way to discuss these comics, but not everyone on here does "support the artist".

She pretty much says (she's using her native language--Korean) that she's been talking with other people from other countries about illegal sites about people who are illegally translating her work (such as Skylar, I persume). She's quite annoyed to hear about it. It makes her sad to see these sites exist. She also states that she sympathize with those who want to read it in their own language but it's better to buy it because it helps her financially and it's best to do it the legal way. She told someone to post it here and on other illegal sites because she doesn't know english or the other languages well. That she will look into the matter further.

Yeah, Mingwa is still pissed. I mean, I totally understand her frustration. I do support her though and will continue to do so. I love BJ Alex

Tai July 9, 2018 8:14 pm

Yes! Chapter 34 is gone. Maybe this will protect the translator. I'm actually not mad at Skylar. She did what she felt was right. Ya can't be mad at her for that. Still feel bad for Mingwa though....

    bimblefrog July 9, 2018 10:49 pm

what she did was really shitty honestly. did it bother her so much that we could read the translation before eng official release? many people buy the chapters anyways!

“Many” but I guess she wants the author she likes to be paid instead of it being read illegally. I wouldn’t be mad at her either, we read it illegally and so because of that the author doesn’t even get that much money because the majority don’t even pay to read it.

bishop u must love me as u replied to my other post. why are you here? don't you think it's hypocritical that you even have an account? in regards to artists getting paid, if it wasn't for translations etc many mangakas and manhwa artists wouldn't even get an eight of the attention they get from international readers. If anything this is for lezhin to figure out - 1. they need to pay their artists more. Period. Many artists have bailed from that company bc they can't even do that. 2. if artists want more revenue they have to do what other artists do such as the 10 Count one and license their characters put them on folders, books, etc. People buy stuff they are obsessed with ONCE they can even read the story. Hard for me to be into something if it's only in Korean. And in regards to BJ Alex, business-wise if it's so popular in eng speaking world why don't they release it as same time as Korean? So many problems they could avoid if they went about this a different way.

Please don’t attack Bishie. If it were as easy as that, wouldn’t everyone do that? I totally agree with you that mangaka and manhwa artist get more exposure through illegal translations from international readers which does lead to purchases eventually. Someone even said in the topics (who is actually apart of the translation business) said that that is one of the many ways the business works )to an extent anyway). However, the damage is done, and like Bishie said it may even be that Skylar wanted her fav manhwa artist to get paid for the effort she has done to create this story. That doesn’t mean that no one else is going to retranslate it again though because obviously there’s a high demand. So I mean, be more understanding. We ARE illegally reading it online so it’s EXPECTED that this will happen and not go your way.

Speaking for 10 Count is different because of how that’s in Japan and not in Korea. I’m saying this due to the numerous amount of timed I’ve seen Manwha writers complain about people reading it illegally, and saying that people don’t deserve to read their work. Wouldn’t it be a shame if someone was stealing your work and exposing it illegally? Maybe that would bring them more exposure, but the majority of people would rather read something for free instead of paying for something. I agree that lezhin has been paying authors less, and there has been a sort of protest that went for lezhin, but you can’t blame lezhin for there being less readers. If there were as much people on this website reading on lezhin, the author would be paid so much more due to how popular their work is.

I am not personally attacking Bishie, I'm simply not agreeing with him/her and the tone they chose to respond to the OP. If you/her/him are so adamant about not reading illegal translations, then don't register for an account and go ahead and block this site while you are at it.

I'm an artist, and when I publish something, especially online, I am always very aware that there is a risk that I and people like me take when we share our works with people. The thing here is that NO one is stealing author's work and passing it off as their own. The translators encourage us to buy chapters from Lezhin when we can (and many do this because the art is great). The biggest problem here is that one particular person felt s/he had to snitch about ch34 for god knows what reason.
Regarding Lezhin and how much it pays its artists, first it's a myth that they don't have readers and lack $. If you do the math, we are paying up to $40+ per season of just one manga, and its a digital product to boot. Second, it's not the fault of thirsty English readers like me and other BJ Alex fans that the English one is released after the Korean one. Quick way to about bootleg translations? Release them both at the same time. Other quick fixes: give specials/deals to readers so they don't overspend on digital products but still support the artist, sell products such as books, mugs etc with art form artist and give a huge chuck out of that back to the artist.
I am super grateful to anyone that shares translations with me and other BL fans bc otherwise we wouldn't even read it (ofc, bc we don't know the language). Snitches can fk off tho.

looks like this may have took a turn for the worst

    Tsundere July 8, 2018 9:42 pm

To get the translator's email this Skylar had to pretend to be friends with this person, I know that taking someone's work is not good but going so far as to report a person and a personal info to get him into trouble is really disgusting and not better.

Probably not gonna happen, I mean we've had it with Killing stalking, lover boy, window beyond window.... even for at the end of the road that had some chapters taken down they were uploaded a few weeks later; same thing will happen with this one

Someone is trying to tell Mingwa about the translations. Since the person has the email address of the translator.

    ❀_lupa_❀ July 8, 2018 7:03 pm

Why are they even reading on this site if they think this is wrong

    Lovety001 July 8, 2018 7:03 pm

I love how people sit up here and play the “pot” while calling the kettle black. I do get where this person is coming from but my question is, how would you know about this translator and what they are doing if YOU, YOURSELF where not on said aggregator sites. But that’s just my take on it, what do I know?

    sione July 8, 2018 7:04 pm

Oh god why are they making things complicated i understand the supporting thing but they also should know NOT everyone has a money to buy coins just let the other people enjoy things i know its illegal but atleast just let them if you realy want to support the author just go buy a coin you have money (•ө•)

People like me, found out on other sites such as tumblr. I made this account to specifically comment. Never heard of it. But I follow Mingwa and I know what's she's been going through. I don't feel that bad for the translator. I actually buy the chapters legally.

Well, good for you! It's great that you can support the creators and honestly I wish I could too. But it's not that easy for some people like us who live in third world countries where we don't even have credit cards to pay for the coins. I actually used to login daily to lezhin just so that I could get a few coins at the end of the month so I could support the creators that I love. But it's simply too hard to keep on doing that and it takes too much time. I could barely buy 3 chapters in one month. I get where you're coming from but I hope you understand where we're coming from too

    Exactly my story

Tai July 8, 2018 3:20 pm

I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for saying this, might be called a hypocrite but I wished the translator brought the raws from the Korean site instead of going to Toorkor and using them. Now because chapter 34 is uploaded here, and when it does come out on the english site (Lezhin uploaded 2 chapters this week 32 and 33), Mingwa will lose money. It's a little selfish, people could have waited. I follow her on twitter, and she has an injured hand (reason why it was in hiatus like a month ago) and she still draws very well. At least when the other person shared, they waited until it was out to buy, or gave people time to buy. Remember, this is a job to them, this is how they make money. Plus, the translator put their email, they can find you, you know?

    combatcat July 8, 2018 3:50 pm

I still buy them on Lezhin when I have the funds to support the artists. Even when they're on here... I'm hoping others do this as well.

    Aubryn July 8, 2018 3:50 pm

Only person here who has sense. People don't realize that if you put your email address, the creator can contact you. Yeah, she'll probably lose money next week seeing that Lezhin promoted 2 chapters this week 32 and 33. Why buy 34 when it comes out if it's here already? (how some people think) I heard about her hand, the fact that she still draws excellent. People only tend to like when they get stuff for free and for their entertainment and not necessary think about who they are hurting in the long run (note the comments on here). Sad.
