This type of storyline always bothers me. The fl is pure while the ml has some type of feelings, but "something" gets in the way. They're not dedicated enough to actually establish a relationship so they drift off. Then the ml gets it on for "experience" or "rebeling" or "just cuz." Magically ml and fl reunite, ml/fl still has feelings. They get together and he uses his experience to make it good and then the fl is not allowed to have any other man near her or have any other man interested in her. I need more fl leads who do not save themselves when clearly many male characters do not!
It clearly stated that the permanent mark ensures that a beta cannot resist or feel disgust from the alpha that made it!
