Why is everyone hung up on the rape? Its an adult story. Things like that happen in real life so why can't they happen in manga? I suppose most of the readers here are pretty young...

Why should a manga be all rose colored? Isn't it actually better to showcase reality? All these young people need to know that love isn't rose colored. Why build false expectations? rapists do not deserve redemption nor a life worth living at all. rape in this story was handled badly and making it look like rapists deserve second chances or they can just brush it off and move on from their crimes. Imo, thats lazy storytelling.

true, i can also see that. that can seem pretty pretentious with the way he realized he might be able to like him back? (like idk why i feel off about that parttt) like we know that can happen but the storyline lacks in depth, there's a missing emotional journey or development because this was like made to be the usual 6 chapter manga if it was able to be long and shine, it would be an amazing explore to their gay awakening.
