When you find out your father is a piece O' sXxt, and it actually sinks in. There a lot of villains in this story but Johanna is the Biggest one. I take no rebuttals my mind is made. Up.

Marrying a 14yo Kid just because she looks like your first love who you couldn't get over is the lowest. He knew he was dieing and rather than ACTUALLY protecting his existing family he takes someone from the county side with no education stuffs her with only 1 year worth of knowledge that took him years to learn and leaves her to become the family head. I say 1 years as my understanding of the plot is he spent most of the second year they were actually together bedridden, not that 2 years of education would change my mind. If someone could learn to be he family head in 1(or2) years there is NO reason he could not have just spent that time teaching his oldest some who was 12 at the time of the marriage. 12 year olds and 14 year olds are no different when they all say their coming of age ceremonys are not till they are 20 anyway, setting it up so she has to stay the family head untill that son is married after 20 is ludicrous when she had to do it all at 14. There's NO justification other then wanting to make her life miserable. He knew nothing about her other then she was polite and looked like his first love and decided she would "thrive" in a terrible situation of managing a family alone for year with no support. And the other adults are terrible to for letting it happen all based on what a childs face Looked like, it took him two years to die after meeting her and at no time did his sense of morality kick in, he just wanted to possess his first loves clone even after his death for as long as possible.

Aside from 2 chapters 41/42 randomly being form a different book, this is a pretty good read. It's just original enough to not feel bland and repetitious compared to others of the same general theme. Tho it is a bit frustrating that as the author of the world the MC seems to know very little about what is going on in it. His knowledge pops up at random times and is missing in situations that feel like it should be useful, I'm hopeful there's a reason and the gap isn't just sloppy writing.

Like.... This was awful. Made it seem like he was gonna go it alone and be an OP MC that build his own self, and 40 chapters in they went a completely different direction didn't have him achieve the "first awakening" achievement and already had to many characters to keep the story from becoming dull. His "Team" was just a bunch of side characters to drag the story on and make the dialogue hard to follow. 2/10 don't recommend.
