Guys, the reason why people are upset that there is slave purchasing in this series is because it is completely unnecessary. This is a fictional fantasy world that does not have to reflect reality. The author could have easily written in some magical contract that wasn't a SLAVE contract that could have sealed the lips of a REGULAR, WILLING worker. Even with this slave route, it did not have to be a hot woman SEX SLAVE. This is entirely the author's kink, and just because Mukoda does not react to it does not mean it's not fan service or there for again, the author's kinks. This is just a disgusting plot point that has never once been necessary. And, for female fans of this series, we thought it was going to steer clear of those pitfalls because of how the first two seasons presented themselves. Our disappointment mainly comes from that. There's no shade to people who continue to enjoy this story, it's just not the escape I came here for any more.

Also again, why sex slave? why a girl? why does this FANTASY world NEED to reflect this dark and horrible part of our real life when it's an escape cooking power fantasy that does not have anything meaningful to say about the horrific realities of the slave industry but that our main character gets to "save" her (and then do nothing about slavery as a whole from what I can see?). The point is that there is no big overarching narrative difference from having this girl NOT be a sex slave.

what do you mean sex slave??? there's nothing the LN that Mukhoda got himself a sex slave??

Girl, read the light novel. There's no mention of sex slaves whatsoever. Mukoda did get slaves but they're a whole family and adventurers. And he treat them as workers.

I can’t be the only one who read this with the translation on Novel Updates, right? What’s the novellight translation light I keep seeing linked here like for those who read it? I found the translation I read really solid, it’s also where I read Bermuda, but it’s been a while since I read chapters since I’m letting them pile up lol feel free to ask for spoilers, but I’m behind a 100 chapters with waiting to binge as a caveat lol

    I wanna ask about Bermuda
I'm marinating it for now, but is it nearing the end or still a long way to go??

First of all, I think Bermuda is incredible and 100% support your marination lol. Second, it’s close to 500 chapters in COO and still ongoing. Translation is about 100 chapters behind, and I don’t think we’ll be all that much closer to finishing by the time those 100 chapters get translated. It’s really good, but the slow pacing tells me we’ll be waiting a bit more for the ending unfortunately :(

I'm currently completely caught up with the ongoing translation of the novel and this story is worth the investment. It's easy to find on Novel Updates if you're looking for the translation, just remember that you have to have an account to be redirected to the translations from novel updates itself lol

Otherwise, this is a healing from trauma story disguised as an idol comedy novel. Our MC, Iwol, has had a tough life, and most of the members have their own demons too. The novel does an excellent job weaving all these lives together and having these characters connect emotionally. One of the few Idol novels where I'm confident in saying every single group member is as well fleshed out as our MC.

Also. compared to other stories in the genre, the tension and storytelling is a cut above imo. There is little "drama" for the sake of drama, and more well thought out obstacles that correlate to the personal circumstances of the characters. The fan reactions are also some of my favorites ever in this kind of story. No spoilers but to quote a recent comment from a fan in the recent chapter "My baby is scary even when he sleeps, ghosts would probably run away, I’m glad you probably won’t get sleep paralysis, I love you" It still makes me crack up LMAO

By far, this is my favorite Idol manhwa with over ~50 chapters. Eden is so freaking endearing. If it was translated, I would have already binged the novel raws...

But if you like this series The Malicious Member is Back on Novel Updates is by far the closest I can recommend (MC is a lot less prickly but the vibe is similar) but it doesn't have a Manhwa adaptation yet. I'm excited to see how this one goes, but I hope the duel regressor storyline isn't too crazy. Often these stories lose me with how they choose to handle their more speculative aspects. So far, this one seems solid!

Like the writing here is good, the characters are great, and the story is interesting, but I'm immediately thinking of dropping it now that he's been shafted into another body... The storyline with the original owner was my least favorite part of While I'm Getting Revenge, I'll Become Top Idol and to a lesser extent even Debut or Die's original owner plotline bothered me. It just doesn't work. Your reader is always going to sympathize with the character we're following more, but they won't forget about the original owner without any explanation. If the end goal was to have MC leave the body eventually, this story needed to set us up for that immediately. And if MC is going to get the body back after all this... I'll be PISSED. Ise is 24, no matter how you spin that you're not convincing me he's better off anywhere but in his body with the mother who loves him?

My honest opinion is that Ise should have regressed and had the story center around the real Ise with an updated personality (close to our MC) from more life experiences instead of... whatever this is. You could have even had Ise regress to this exact point... I think I'm so disappointed because I genuinely love this manhwa. But I don't think there's a way to come back from this... sob
