I cried in advance but I'm still crying anyway I get Rebecca's reasoning but she still should've been honest. If their doomed anyway, the author better give us some light hearted side stories because they can't just end the year on this note.
This is just me speculating, but since 'the system' only exists to follow the main storyline and Gu Xing created the story. Wouldn't her attempting to write another story have an effect on the world she's currently in? Because for me right now that feels like the only thing that would explain why future Meng Nian is here in the first place. Gu Xing said herself that this felt like her sloppy writing. Though maybe I'm missing I don't know, I know the translators are trying their best but the stories getting serious. Are there no official translations?
