The fake outrage surrounding this series has been blown out of proportion because the author creates BL content. Crunchyroll is full of shounen depicting underage relationships between male and female characters. Yet, the authors rarely ever receive even a hint of blowback. One of the most popular series on the site has a legit pedophile MC. They just released a series with an adventurer and his child succubus love interest a few months ago. Not to mention all of the series with shotas being harassed by half-naked adult women. No outrage. This is just a way to police and censor homosexuality, guys. Teacher x student is one of the oldest tropes in existence. It shouldn’t be causing this much drama. It’s because they’re GAY.
And the fact that nothing happens btwn the two too? Typical BL readers, to be honest. I see slop BLs posted on social media with thousands of likes and people hyping them to the sky just because the steamy scenes look juicy. Or two pages of interesting panels, only to find out it was 30% questionable storyline and 70% smut. Unfortunately, this formula sells.

In Flashlight, did you notice we actually had too many filler chapters in seasons 1 and 2 where nothing ever happened? Just flowers and rainbows with a hint of angst and a few brief flashbacks to their childhood.
