i had high hopes for this. the story's well paced (i am on chapter 6 so far) and the art is great, but it feels like something's missing. there isn't much chemistry between Kanae and Haiga. Their characters are sort of bland. Neither of them are given much of a personality outside of Haiga being sociable and Kanae serving looks. i feel the author could've built on their personalities better.
I'm feeling validated by your review. Just read it and thought it's a very green flag well-paced story, but both characters are kind of mild. I love how it's not desperate love and they slowly build confidence on having a relationship, which is unusual for BL, yet both characters are so moderate they feel a little boring at times. I think they're so rational it takes a bit off the yearning. Maybe the sequel will flash out their personalities more, but since this is one of those "peak" BL, maybe I came in with higher hopes? Haha it's still great tho. The art is gorgeous.
