As much as I wanted to see an end where it’s confirmed that the two somehow find a way to live together forever. I think it makes sense with the themes of loss and acceptance of loss in this story to have both of them accept mortality. But I have my personal belief that because he’s a god, they are joined together in the afterlife and maybe can see his ghost or his spirit still even after he passes.
I get that it’s a sequel but the ending still seemed rushed. I was hoping we’d get to see them in college etc.
