they transformed Taeui in such a loser… he keeps gettin swayed by everyone, it wasn’t like this before. i hate the “save the poor damsel in distress” plot i swear to god.
I don’t think he became a damsel in distress though . The people he’s dealing with now are on a completely different level than before. He’s up against people like Ilay, Rahman, Xinlu… literally monsters and Taeui was never the type to solve everything with brute force anyway. His biggest strength has always been adapting to whatever situation he’s thrown into. The manhwa just doesn’t show his thought process as well as the novel does, so he ends up looking way more passive than he actually is.
…this chapters (136) is one of the worst chapters of this story. Taeui could’ve briefly explained himself to Ilay instead of just running away, plus deciding to follow Xinlu is so stupid like if there’s one person in the world who could save your brother is Ilay, how can you trust Xinlu more? i get that Xinlu made it sound like he was the only one who could save taeui’s brother but how can we trust him blindly and chose him over fucking Ilay??? 135 chapters of “Ilay’s so strong and inhumane he could kill an army” but you get Xinlu help for finding one person?? the one who would’ve killed you and skin you just for not wanting him?? and i got a spoiler that Ilay will get revenge on Taeui cause he thinks he betrayed him (totally understandable cause Taeui didn’t say shit to him, he just ran towards Xinlu) and will rape him… like why the fuck do we have to get there again after so long? totally avoidable. so disappointed in this chapter which i impatiently waited for so long…..
i get that he had no time but like he has to work with two insane person, one that has feelings towards him and one who told him he would kill him if he don’t end up with him. at that point you have to choose the minor evil, which is the insane persone that at least has feelings for you. For all Taeui knows Xinlu could’ve already sold his brother, with Ilay he would’ve had more chances of saving him in my opinion. plus the fact he didn’t explain himself is making me so mad like Ilay spoke to him why the fuck didn’t Taeui say nothing???? i’m so pissed.
Unfortunately, rape in general is a 'thing' in Korea, also because of the specific rape culture and the concept of consent in Asia, not always, but I have noticed that many authors use this card as a momentary angst, what just proves low writing skills, and basically on that rape main Passion part is ending... kinda sad, this us why I'm not a fan of this series when we're talking about 'relationship' part
yeah you’re right, you have to read this without any romantic expectations cause as always love is depicted as something that could make you forgive the most unforgivable things (and that’s factually not true and dangerous to show in comics read by teens). i was hoping for something but this story made it clear it is NOT romantic, just like you said. i swear i’m still so pissed and i’ll be pissed for a while lol ( ̄へ ̄)
this author is a pain in the ass i swear, how many more hiatuses will they announce before finishing this manhwa, which is becoming a torture to follow? in general the new trend of schedule brakes every 4/5 episodes is so shit, but lately every single author seems to be taking long ass pauses…. the length of each season is decreasing too, so they take 3/4 months to prepare like 20/25 chapters and they STILL announce hiatuses during serialization i don’t really know how the backstage of manhwas production really works, i heard something about authors being exploited but from what i can see it seems like some of them are just slacking off, reassured by the popularity of their works that’ll make people stick with your inconstant rhythm.
P.S. before anyone starts coming at me telling me i can’t complain being an illegal reader myself…. watch me.
not a professional artist but i draw as a hobby and making art is extremeeeeely hard, very time consuming, not to mention it exposes you to a lot of health risks, like back problems and wrist problems, or other join problems, if you draw for a long period of time, that can leave the author permanently disabled if it is not properly taken care of. also, they are most likely overworked, drawing nonstop for days just to pump out a single chapter every week. the chapter you read for about 2 minutes most likely took them 1-2 weeks of nonstop work. most of them work alone, if they're lucky they have 1 or 3 assistants that can take the load off their work. still, it is very physically demanding. all manhwas ive ever read have artists going hiatus for months, even taking years because they got injured at some point and cant draw anymore. some even quit and change artists because their injuries are permanent. so no, they are mostly likely not slacking off. its rude and watch you what? be an entitled brat who cant even wait for a month for a new chapter?? yall would complain too if this artist continued working but dropped the quality. touch some grass, a month or so will pass by quickly if you have a life
lmao the problem it’s not waiting, i think i made myself pretty clear but apparently not. the problem is that it seems like it’s a new trend to take always more pauses without increasing quality nor anything else. it’s an absolute truth? nope, just my opinion expressed on an illegal site, nothing more nothing less. y’all have to actually chill. this author in particular im sorry is injured, but their pauses are so many that i think they should just stop doing this job, it’s not for them. if you think im entitled that’s totally okay, we are just illegal readers not helping the authors you defend dearly.
i’m so worried that it seems nowadays rape-only stories are becoming more and more frequent and liked… guys please this is not normal.
as far as i remember in kaze to ki no uta, all of these harsh topics are handled pretty carefully. you're able to tell through the narration and the way the story progresses that the traumatic things the characters experience are not okay. the children are victims, the story is tragic. nothing is romanticized by the author.
meanwhile, your average rape yaoi in this age is romanticized heavily, the rapist is usually a main lead, and then their victim falls in love with them.
i think dark topics CAN be explored in yaoi, or any media for that matter, because these are real life things that people can go through. but most authors nowadays do not handle the topics with care, they throw it into their stories and don't give a fuck about their impact.
yup yup, nowadays rape in yaoi is just so normalized and you just don't see real repercussion in it, the characters magically aren't as affected by it and it's always portrayed in a sexy manner- which, don't get me wrong it's not like these should never ever exist, but it's basically THE NORM now. To the point it's often overlooked and it takes an extra step of ”evilness” for people to start actually having a reaction to it
i read manhwas since 10 years bby, i unfortunately discovered rape fetish before you had your first smartphone probably lmao. where i was surprised?? i clearly said im worried that more and more stories have rape in it, now if you’re okay with it that’s you but just to let you know it’s weird when y’all defend these things… like i get you need validation for your fetish but don’t come after people who don’t like it cause you know, we are different.
Babe please calm down, the only one angry here is you. Don’t like it, don’t read it. I promise your life will be more peaceful after you stop obsessing over what strangers online read. Sending love and peace, you need it PS I recommend trying some mood stabilisers, heard from a friend they help with cases like yours
Well you remembered wrong it is fetishized and that’s fine, same with most yaoi that came out around the same time. They were always written as taboo and sad as possible because being gay was also considered taboo in conservative japan they would literally compare it to things like incest. Nothing very much progressive about it.
Literally it’s absolutely not needed at all like yall can’t just show them getting hit but I just gotta show a full grape scene for a whole ass chapter and a half like it’s so not needed and theirs never any plot at all they just wanna show grape it’s absolutely disgusting even if it’s just manga it should never be normalized in any type of way I get it they explain the trauma of the characters but when they be showing multiple chapters of it it’s just disgusting and when the whole manga is just grape it is so disappointing like why I gotta waist absolutely beautiful art on that bs

lmao people went so against me when i said this artist takes a little too many hiatuses, how can y’all justify 4 months of inactivity after a year of pause due to the end of the season lmaoooooooooo this artist is taking us as fools at this point
“this artist is taking us as fools”
the author is not gaining anything other than loss from not continuing the work.
yeah i don’t think so. you know how many people buy gadgets?? how many people participate at the events?? the author is hyping this story up by this many hiatuses, the story will continue further so they have more time to get people to buy their things. plus this whole “health problems” thing that’s going on among the authors is starting to get so hard to believe. as i said in another comment, every normal person has to work every day, if you have health problems you do a job that won’t worsen your condition. this author talks about their problems since more than a year now, just let go no? give the opportunity to other authors to continue with the story.
If you think the author is taking hiatus that is affecting the manhwa negatively to hype the manhwa then you might as well wear a tin foil hat. She has been receiving so much hate. It’s hard to get better from health problems to continue the job if the heath problems are caused by the job in the first place. It’s a terrible idea to let another artist take over her story especially when the fandom is extremely comfortable with the current art style right now, not only will it be complicated if they decide to market the manhwa, sell merchandise or just anything else, a good chunk of the readers are going to ditch. And yes there are several authors taking hiatuses because of health issues, but did it ever occur to you that they are all experiencing health issues from their job. A job that is controlled by exploitative huge cooperations that is ONLY focused on profit maximizing. Most authors have to pump out a new chapter every week, sketching, line art, coloring, rendering and repeat that for like 40 times for a single chapter. Even if they are taking “fake” hiatuses do you not think that it might be because they are burnt out? Why would they indulge in something reducing their income that is the equivalent of a part time job. Yes, every normal person has to work everyday. But not every job is the same, a delivery driver does not have to experience back, neck and hand pain from sitting on a chair the entire day hunched over trying to add details to the panel. This type of culture is how Japan has the high suicide rates from working until they burnt out or literally dying from over exhaustion. And this may sound annoying but obviously if you do not like the author and thinks that she’s a bad person by your definition for taking fake hiatuses then don’t support the author or the manhwa. If you want to know the ending you can read the novel and just drop it.
You try making one and see how hard it is. Until then just stfu and wait like the rest of us. You should be thankful you’re getting anything at all
