And I understand that it’s fiction, but the thing is, fiction can still influence and normalize things in the real world (like it did to me ahah). Ideas float around in the collective unconscious and then eventually manifest in reality. With incest, for example, there are centuries old barriers that have already been formed and that stop people from acting on it. Speaking specifically for myself, what stops me from incest? simply that I’m not attracted to anyone in my family lol, so are they¿. Also, when incest involves a significant age difference, grooming makes me uncomfortable, messing with someone’s head, that’s horrifying. With robots, though, ten years ago this question wouldn’t have bothered me, but now that it’s actually happening, I don’t want to add fuel to this pathology. It’s still new, and humans haven’t figured out how to deal with it yet. Robots can’t feel, and if they can, then that raises other questions: who are we, really, and what do feelings even mean? In my eyes, that flatten emotions, kills the mystery of life. But its today's me, ask me in 10 years again.

Your comparison is so far off, like do you use your toaster sexually? No, right? So obviously you won't get any emotional attachment to that. I just don't don't agree with you saying that it's worse and even lined it up with zoophilia, that's so far off. Because the bot here are humanoid and if we talk about ai, most likely people that fall for them are lonely humans that are yearning for human interactions (which is like the MC there) and those ai are the closest they have, especially when they are programmed for that.

no I'm coherently processing it and it still disagree. the ai gf/bf in real life is terrible because it's corporations exploiting people's loneliness and getting them addicted to isolating themselves further. it's also bad for the planet. incest is wrong for grooming, biological, and socialization reasons. it's reasons for being wrong still make sense and apply in a fictional world. whereas in this story, the robot doesn't come with any of the factors of the real world.

Manga doesn’t spend much time on worldbuilding, give us context, theres no time for it in short story. But tell me, why have totalitarian regimes throughout history spent so much money on cinema and art in all forms, if it’s just fiction that supposedly can’t influence people’s minds? Why, if a poet/writer writes a story about fairies and magical creatures, king might decide to have them executed for similarities to him and "dangerous" ideas? We don’t live in isolation from the context of the world, whether that context is real or fictional. And even though the author most likely isn’t intentionally doing what they’re doing, effect will still be there, which is why I think everything should be discussed, especially when you see a need for it. Anyway, thnx for th dialogue everyone. And you’re right that the biggest problem with ai is harm it does to nature, and then to people. If I can have even a little bit of an impact on someone by using it less, only when necessary, I’ll try.

Regarding the reasons you're listing for incest, they're only wrong in the context of a fictional world if the fictional world abides by the same rules we do. What if in a fictional world, there is no risk of genetic defects, there is no possible psychological harm, and it's all between consenting adults? You haven't laid out any reason incest is wrong in both fiction and irl but displacing human emotions onto inanimate objects meant to mimic humans is only wrong irl. They can both be wrong (to different degrees) AND you can still enjoy stories with fictional robots. Anyways, if you're like most people arguing based solely on their emotions than you probably checked out at the first sentence. If not, then I'll just be explicit about the fact that I think incest is wrong and harmful, but I'm making an argument to point out how arbitrary these goalposts about what's okay in fiction but wrong irl are.
