I read the manhwa to the end of season one, it was just okay. I was looking forward to much more to the revenge but I guess so. I just gotta wait for season two then…
Spoiler: It’s going to be a long post. This summary starts from Chapter 21 to Chapter 35.
So she went into the “judge room.” Everyone was already there talking smack about her, saying she was guilty and basically trash.
When she walked in, she spoke first and simply said, “I guess this is my seat.” Everyone immediately got mad and started saying she had no manners, insulting her parents, and going on and on. Madam Linko asked if she had done anything to the maids, and the FL replied that she only told them to take the food away. Madam Linko suddenly burst out, asking what happened to the maids. The maids claimed that the FL had beaten them up and scolded them. The ladies in the room immediately started calling her guilty, but the FL defended herself by asking, “I didn’t do that. Did anyone actually see me?” Flora (the pink-haired girl) responded, “Are you saying my maids are lying?” The maids then claimed they recognized the FL’s voice. The FL kept trying to defend herself, but the mother interrupted and said, “Fine. Then all three of you will go to the dungeon.” As the maids tried to grab the FL, the ML suddenly came in and rescued her. He questioned the maids, the mother, and then the ML leaving the room with the FL.
The story then shifts to the grandmother telling the ML (as a kid) to return safely from the war. She’s shown resting in her bedroom when the ML barges in, telling her to recover quickly, help the dukedom, eat properly, and take care of herself. She immediately starts yelling at him. The FL then walks over, bows politely, and introduces herself. The grandmother notices that the FL reminds her of the FL’s father. Suddenly, a guard arrives and announces that the maids have been found dead. They also found a letter supposedly written by the maids that talked about the FL. Madam Linko immediately sent her ladies to bring the FL back. She interrogated her, showing her the letter, which claimed that the maids were terrified of the FL. Apparently, the FL wanted to be find to the Blue Room but they were too scared to tell her, so the letter accused the FL of killing them. Flora immediately started yelling, “Murderer!” Madam Linko then walked up to the FL, declared that she was “the Invisible One,” slapped her, and sent her straight to the dungeon.
While in the dungeon, the FL thought to herself that she could handle it because she had the ML on her side. Meanwhile, the ML went to inspect the maids’ bodies. Lord Linko was already there. The ML ordered a professional examination of the bodies, but Lord Linko refused, insisting that it was obviously the work of the Invisible One. The other nobles were hesitant but eventually started questioning if there is an invisible one here. But, the ML firmly stated that there was no Invisible One. Later, Lord Linko went to the grandmother’s residence and tried to raid it. The grandmother showed up looking incredibly powerful and kicked everyone out herself. She then decided to return to her normal appearance.
Some time later, Madam Linko secretly placed a hallucinogenic gas (or candle) inside the FL’s dungeon cell to make it seem like the FL was losing her mind. At first, the ML hesitated to visit the FL, but he eventually went anyway. As soon as he entered the dungeon, he smelled the strange gas, realized something was wrong, rushed to the FL, and saved her.
The next day, the Linko couple confidently walked into the Richmond courtroom, believing everything would go their way because they thought Richmond belonged to them. Instead, they found the ML sitting in the master’s seat. Confused, they started asking why he was there. The Linkos announced that the Duke’s lover had actually killed the maids and that his wife was the one who uncovered the truth. The ML basically said, “I already warned you.” He then called the FL into the courtroom. Madam Linko assumed she had probably gone insane by now, but the FL appeared dirty from being imprisoned while looking perfectly sane. Then an ugly, one-legged, short old man entered the courtroom. He claimed he knew the FL, called her “Vicky,” said she belonged to the Invisible One, and even lied about her parents. The ML asked him if he understood what would happen if he lied. The old man tried to touch the FL, but she grabbed his hand and said, “No. You’re wrong. You don’t know me.” She then walked over to the ML and said she knew someone from the Richmond Dukedom. That person turned out to be the Linkos’ own son. He entered the courtroom, revealed the FL’s true identity as Grace Taylor, and respectfully kissed her hand. Madam Linko was furious. Her son tried to stop everything, but then the grandmother arrived. The ML immediately stood up and gave the main seat back to her. The FL formally introduced herself once again as Grace Taylor. The grandmother punished the old man and had the Lord Linko removed from the courtroom, but they didn’t receive much punishment at that moment. As Madam Linko was just standing there, the grandmother noticed the jewelry she was wearing and laughed, saying, “Those are my jewels.”
After everything was over, the FL collapsed from exhaustion. The grandmother and the ML then had a private conversation. Later, Flora tried to defend the Linko family, but one of the grandmother’s maids slapped the absolute crap out of her. The grandmother’s missing jewelry was eventually found hidden in Flora’s room. The other noble ladies immediately turned against Flora, mocking her and reminding her that she was nothing now that her family was falling apart.
A few days later, the FL started whispering the ML’s real name in her sleep. At one point, she mumbled for him to hold her. The ML leaned closer and quietly asked, “Do you really want me to hold you?” Right then, she suddenly woke up. She explained that saying his real name was an old habit she had developed to keep herself focused on her revenge.
(I honestly forgot the rest because it wasn’t that interesting to me anymore.) A few days later, the young ladies who had been talking badly about Flora entered a room and found her waiting there. She smiled, reintroduced herself as Flora Linko, the Linko family’s new daughter.
That’s where Season 1 ends.
Sorry if this recap is all over the place. I’m trying my best to translate everything from Korean into English
