It's a little confusing but basically she was neglected by her parents and made to feel like an outsider, which made her miserable. Being in an openly gay relationship in rural...well anywhere really makes you an outsider. She cares about Haebeom and Ho and doesn't want them to go through the same misery.
It's flawed and dumb, but I reckon that was her thought process.
Every chapter I read I go through the same emotions and never learn.
