We had that flashback of his mother telling him not to come back, but there was a never a reason given... and then the old servant who favours him and bought him the paints... maybe he knows something about his past that is important somehow??? Idk maybe it’s just me and too much reading mysteries lol
i think the woman in Na Kyum’s flashback is not his mother rather his ‘noonas’ that adopted him, it was mentioned that he is adopted by the kisaengs
